What is OLLEISN? What is OLLEISN?OLLEISN is a secure, Internet-based system designed to enable Ohio local law enforcement agencies to share law enforcement information with each other. How does local information get to OLLEISN?Local agencies submit information to OLLEISN through a secure Internet pathway to the Ohio Attorney General's Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway (OHLEG) Office. How is OLLEISN data accessed?To access OLLEISN data, law enforcement officers, and support personnel as determined by local policy, must obtain individual accounts directly from OHLEG: www.ohleg.org. Utilizing an OHLEG username, ORI and password, an OLLEISN query may be submitted 24/7 through OHLEG, via the Internet. Some CAD/RMS providers have developed the means for their customers to query OLLEISN from within their CAD/RMS software. The software identifies the user and automatically submits the required OHLEG credentials to allow access to OLLEISN. Regardless of the means of access, an audit log is kept of all queries to OLLEISN, identifying user ID, date, time and type of query submitted. What makes OLLEISN effective?Local law enforcement makes OLLEISN effective. Each OLLEISN Agency Contact must make sure that their agency regularly uploads their information to the system. If for any reason OLLEISN does not receive an upload at least weekly, a delinquency notice is sent to the Agency Contact. Regular entry of data by local agencies to their CAD/RMS systems makes timely, accurate information available statewide, enhancing officer safety and improving the effectiveness of local investigations. What local information does OLLEISN share?Depending on the information collected by a local agency, OLLEISN retrieves and shares multi-jurisdictional information about persons, locations and property related to:
