NEWS UPDATE REGARDING OLLEISN PROJECTSubject: OLLEISN Posted as Success Story at DOJ BJA website Just wanted to share this link to the article that was initiated by Director Paul Wormeli at IJIS Institute requesting Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance write the OLLEISN success story and post on their DOJ website. Congratulations to all who have made and continue to make the Ohio information sharing story one of the best in the country! As you know, IJIS Institute stands for the Integrated Justice Information Sharing Institute, and represents the vendors across the nation involved in RMS and CAD technology for criminal justice organizations. Two pending additional success achievements by our OLLEISN Team: First, with the strong support of IJIS Institute, the DOJ Bureau of Justice Assistance intends to support the creation of the National Information Sharing Laboratory (NISL) at the Ohio Attorney General's office this Spring 2007. The funding level will not be enormous by any means, but will enable our beginning the formal development of the NISL in the coming months. Ohio is being asked to share our successes to accelerate others adoption. The more states adopt DOJ GJXDM standards, the faster Ohio will be able to link with many others to share information, and bring that information to our street officers, deputies and troopers. Second, IJIS Institute has asked Ohio and Attorney General, Marc Dann to become one of the first networks in the country to migrate from the GJXDM model to the new NIEM model (National Information Exchange Model). This enables our linking beyond law enforcement with corrections, courts, financial networks and health. Ohio can clearly remain on the cutting edge of information sharing. Thank you for your continued support! Without strategic thinking, strategic partnerships, significant funding and great experts in the field, this would not have been possible. Thank you!
